New artwork up at the Fox + Bottle Wine that is part of Artwalk Edmonds this Thursday, February 19th from 5-8pm. The work will be up at least through March so plenty of time to visit and see it. Fox + Bottle Wine is located at 112 5th Ave S in downtown Edmonds, WA- see their website for hours (closed on Mondays).
The work that is currently up is part of my “Celebration Series”- a series of pen and watercolor artwork that was initially inspired by gathering around festive tables and creating “celebration cards” leading into the holidays. Originally intended to only be watercolor over pen linework, the simplicity of the patterns in black pen on watercolor paper proved to have their own strong aesthetic and resulted in creating two similar versions of each image. Perhaps joining the conversation around Pantone’s Color of 2026 being Cloud Dancer- a “lofty” white as opposed to a colorful hue, one can look at the images and see which they are drawn to more and think about why. Moving on from festive tables, the images in Celebration Series displayed are inspired by “raising a glass”- which you can do at Fox and Bottle while taking in the pieces.
Many of the watercolors I used for these works are from Beam Paints, several of which contain mica in them for a magical shimmer that is really special to see in person. I have tried to capture some of that magic while in process and of the completed works through photographs and videos to be able to share virtually- but they definitely are more special to see yourself.

During Art Walk, I will be sharing more of the inspiration and process behind the work, and possibly doing some sketching and painting. Given that the 100 Day Project starts this Sunday, I might also bring my past 100 Day Project Sketchbooks to share (this will be my 4th year joining!)
All original framed pieces are for sale ($90 for the watercolors, $45 for pen on watercolor paper) and I will be printing some cards and reprints of originals- if there are any pieces you are interested in let me know- one piece has already sold!
